Investing.com -- U.S. stocks erased their gains from Wednesday as Apple shares (NASDAQ:AAPL) fell 5% on Thursday. Here are the other midday movers for Sept. 29:
- CarMax Inc (NYSE:KMX) shares fell 23% after its profit fell 50% and sales rose only 2% in the most recent quarter. Inflation and consumer sentiment are weighing on demand for used vehicles.
- Peloton Interactive Inc (NASDAQ:PTON) shares fell 15% after the connected fitness company said it would sell its bikes and treadmills in Dicks Sporting Goods stores. It also recently struck a sales agreement with e-commerce giant Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN).
- Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) shares fell 18% after the drug store chain reported a bigger than expected fiscal second quarter loss and lowered its profit forecast on inflation pressures.
- Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) stock rose 1.9% after news Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRKa) had acquired another 5.99 million shares, bringing its stake to 20.9%.
- Bed Bath & Beyond Inc (NASDAQ:BBBY) shares fell 6% after the home goods retailer reported a 28% drop in sales in its fiscal second quarter and expects comparable store sales to fall 20% this year.
