Semafor reported Wednesday that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)'s search engine Bing is set to include a faster and richer version of ChatGPT into its product over the coming weeks.
The faster version, named known as GPT-4, is said to respond considerably faster than the current version, with the replies sounding more human and detailed, Semafor said, citing sources familiar with the product and rollout plans. The move would mark significant progress in the generative AI field.
The report states that OpenAI is also preparing to launch a mobile ChatGPT app and experiment with a new feature in its Dall-E image-generating software that would make videos with the help of artificial intelligence.
The move by Microsoft to incorporate the faster version of ChatGPT into Bing would kick off a significant race to become the dominant player in the field. A mobile app will also allow for broader use.
Last week OpenAI announced that it had extended its partnership with Microsoft, with the tech giant making a multi-year, multi-billion dollar investment in the company, adding to previous investments made in 2019 and 2021.
