Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Power & Energy and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.04% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 12.50% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 11.33% or 5.80 points to end at 57.00 and Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) was up 10.53% or 2.00 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 17.31% or 450.10 points to trade at 2150.00 at the close. Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) declined 11.11% or 10.00 points to end at 80.00 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was down 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 105 to 87 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.02% or 0.90 to $45.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.50% or 0.68 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.35% or 17.45 to trade at $1276.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.20% to 211.165, while USD/LKR rose 0.37% to 146.400.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.02.
