Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Industrial Products and Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI lost 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Petronas Dagangan Bhd (KL:PETR), which rose 1.69% or 0.36 points to trade at 21.60 at the close. Meanwhile, MISC Bhd (KL:MISC) added 1.53% or 0.14 points to end at 9.32 and Maxis Bhd (KL:MXSC) was up 0.85% or 0.06 points to 7.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC), which fell 3.17% or 0.26 points to trade at 7.94 at the close. Malayan Banking Bhd (KL:MBBM) declined 2.53% or 0.24 points to end at 9.25 and PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) was down 1.89% or 0.30 points to 15.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 56 to 46 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in MISC Bhd (KL:MISC) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.53% or 0.14 to 9.32.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.13% or 0.07 to $56.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.00% or 0.01 to hit $62.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1186.90 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.38% to 2.6911, while USD/MYR rose 0.36% to 3.6265.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 98.28.
