Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrial Products, Financials and Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI lost 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were MISC Bhd (KL:MISC), which rose 2.53% or 0.20 points to trade at 8.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR) added 2.36% or 0.07 points to end at 3.03 and Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM) was up 1.66% or 0.07 points to 4.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (KL:PCGB), which fell 5.16% or 0.33 points to trade at 6.07 at the close. Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE) declined 4.15% or 0.10 points to end at 2.31 and AMMB Holdings Bhd (KL:AMMB) was down 2.73% or 0.16 points to 5.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 326 to 223 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in AMMB Holdings Bhd (KL:AMMB) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.73% or 0.16 to 5.70.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.12% or 0.07 to $53.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.20% or 0.12 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1165.40 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 1.03% to 2.8101, while USD/MYR fell 0.46% to 3.8115.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 97.05.
