Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Financials and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI gained 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (KL:KLCC), which rose 0.57% or 0.04 points to trade at 7.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) added 0.45% or 0.02 points to end at 4.49 and Petronas Dagangan Bhd (KL:PETR) was up 0.18% or 0.04 points to 22.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Axiata Group Bhd (KL:AXIA), which rose 2.93% or 0.17 points to trade at 5.97 at the close. DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) added 3.24% or 0.18 points to end at 5.73 and IOI Corporation Bhd (KL:IOIB) was down 0.71% or 0.03 points to 4.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 375 to 170 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.16% or 0.53 to $46.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.16% or 0.56 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1134.50 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.88% to 3.0610, while USD/MYR fell 1.56% to 4.3560.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.66.
