Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Property and Industrial Products sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI rose 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were AMMB Holdings Bhd (KL:AMMB), which rose 2.26% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.88 at the close. Meanwhile, YTL Corporation Bhd (KL:YTLS) added 1.29% or 0.02 points to end at 1.57 and Axiata Group Bhd (KL:AXIA) was up 0.95% or 0.06 points to 6.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which fell 3.73% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.32 at the close. PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) declined 1.04% or 0.16 points to end at 15.16 and Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (KL:HLCB) was down 0.52% or 0.08 points to 15.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 340 to 212 and 43 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.00% or 1.04 to $51.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.82% or 1.06 to hit $57.09 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.00 to trade at $1152.40 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.42% to 2.7947, while USD/MYR fell 0.06% to 3.8058.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.95.
