SHANGHAI, May 6 (Reuters) - German flag carrier Lufthansa is continuing to see its air traffic turnover in Japan fall since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, chief executive Christoph Franz said on Friday.
However, Lufthansa expects the situation in Japan to stabilise in the near term, and that is partly evident in its bookings, Franz told a news conference in Shanghai.
The airline reported a first-quarter operating loss on Thursday, but said cost cuts and robust demand for air travel could still offset the impact of political unrest in North Africa and the crisis in Japan this year.
