In a report, the Conference Board, a research group, said consumer confidence fell to 52.9 in June, after an increase of 62.7 in May, whose figure was revised down from 63.3.
Analysts had expected an increase to 62.8.
Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar was down against the euro, with EUR/USD gaining 0.265 to hit 1.2219.
