Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.80%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Snam (MI:SRG), which rose 1.13% or 0.060 points to trade at 5.360 at the close. Meanwhile, Terna (MI:TRN) added 1.01% or 0.050 points to end at 5.010 and Enel Green Power (MI:EGPW) was up 0.85% or 0.016 points to 1.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which fell 5.53% or 0.0204 points to trade at 0.3483 at the close. Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) declined 5.35% or 0.0380 points to end at 0.6725 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) was down 5.20% or 0.0310 points to 0.5650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 304 to 110 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Snam (MI:SRG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.13% or 0.060 to 5.360. Shares in Terna (MI:TRN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.01% or 0.050 to 5.010.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.88% or 0.35 to $39.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.42% or 0.17 to hit $40.30 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1221.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.7885.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.13.
