The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (BIT:ISP), which rose 2.78% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) added 2.48% or 0.21 points to end at 8.48 and Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) was up 2.28% or 0.14 points to 6.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII), which fell 6.84% or 0.35 points to trade at 4.70 at the close. Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) declined 2.76% or 0.15 points to end at 5.42 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was down 1.04% or 1.05 points to 100.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 264 to 248 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) fell to all time lows; down 6.84% or 0.35 to 4.70. Shares in Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.48% or 0.21 to 8.48. Shares in Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.76% or 0.15 to 5.42. Shares in Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.28% or 0.14 to 6.46.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.92% or 0.71 to $76.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.96% or 0.78 to hit $80.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 3.90 to trade at $2,682.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 109.23.
