Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 3.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 0.68% or 0.0360 points to trade at 5.3080 at the close. Meanwhile, Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) fell 0.39% or 0.03 points to end at 7.23 and Atlantia (MI:ATL) was down 0.45% or 0.08 points to 17.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI), which fell 9.43% or 0.221 points to trade at 2.123 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI:ISP) declined 8.44% or 0.203 points to end at 2.201 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was down 8.34% or 0.363 points to 3.988.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 341 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.68% or 0.0360 to 5.3080.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.69% or 1.22 to $73.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.95% or 1.59 to hit $82.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 8.60 to trade at $1196.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1616, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8901.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.67.
