Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.65% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 3.22% or 0.1130 points to trade at 3.6180 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 0.54% or 0.09 points to end at 15.78 and ENI (MI:ENI) was up 0.13% or 0.02 points to 15.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which fell 6.73% or 0.151 points to trade at 2.100 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 6.09% or 1.30 points to end at 20.04 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was down 5.61% or 0.8300 points to 13.9700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 334 to 61 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.73% or 0.151 to 2.100. Shares in Banca Generali (MI:BGN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.09% or 1.30 to 20.04. Shares in UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.61% or 0.8300 to 13.9700.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.49% or 1.69 to $66.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.48% or 0.36 to hit $74.96 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1302.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1552, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8719.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.75.
