Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 2.58% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER), which fell 0.15% or 0.03 points to trade at 20.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) fell 0.24% or 0.008 points to end at 3.350 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was down 0.67% or 0.07 points to 10.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which fell 5.06% or 0.960 points to trade at 18.010 at the close. UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) declined 4.73% or 0.6840 points to end at 13.7760 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI:ISP) was down 3.65% or 0.087 points to 2.298.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 297 to 71 and 24 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.29% or 0.86 to $67.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.22% or 0.88 to hit $72.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1219.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.01% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.71% at 96.14.
