Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.55% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Snam SpA (BIT:SRG), which rose 2.43% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN) added 2.02% or 0.15 points to end at 7.67 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was up 1.81% or 0.09 points to 4.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT), which fell 6.12% or 1.39 points to trade at 21.33 at the close. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 5.77% or 1.71 points to end at 27.86 and Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) was down 5.37% or 0.12 points to 2.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 439 to 119 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.77% or 1.71 to 27.86.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.15% or 2.40 to $73.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.78% or 2.21 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 2.10 to trade at $2,478.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.03% at 103.13.
