Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT), which rose 0.45% or 0.0050 points to trade at 1.1060 at the close. Meanwhile, Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI) added 0.33% or 0.0500 points to end at 15.0900 and Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) was down 0.11% or 0.01 points to 9.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian (MILAN:PRY), which fell 5.10% or 1.03 points to trade at 19.15 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 3.93% or 0.81 points to end at 19.82 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was down 3.89% or 0.260 points to 6.420.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 339 to 106 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.37% or 1.58 to $45.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.11% or 1.03 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.82% or 20.30 to trade at $1137.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1372, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7298.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 94.85.
