Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 2.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 12.23% or 0.4270 points to trade at 3.9170 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 1.84% or 0.30 points to end at 16.62 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 0.88% or 0.33 points to 37.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which fell 5.47% or 0.53 points to trade at 9.20 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) declined 5.37% or 0.163 points to end at 2.870 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was down 5.28% or 0.175 points to 3.139.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 293 to 76 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tenaris (MI:TENR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.84% or 0.30 to 16.62.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.43% or 0.31 to $71.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1290.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1802, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8748.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.27.
