Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.33% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which fell 0.22% or 0.01 points to trade at 6.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Snam (MI:SRG) fell 0.29% or 0.010 points to end at 3.469 and Terna (MI:TRN) was down 0.31% or 0.014 points to 4.451 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian (MI:PRY), which fell 10.00% or 2.32 points to trade at 20.88 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) declined 6.15% or 0.218 points to end at 3.327 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was down 4.81% or 0.970 points to 19.190.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 287 to 66 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Prysmian (MI:PRY) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.00% or 2.32 to 20.88. Shares in Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.15% or 0.218 to 3.327.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.57% or 0.39 to $68.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.50% or 1.13 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.00 to trade at $1267.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1691, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.04.
