Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 2.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which unchanged 0.63% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Hera (BIT:HRA) added 0.47% or 0.02 points to end at 3.41 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 0.20% or 0.20 points to 100.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which fell 5.16% or 0.60 points to trade at 11.03 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) declined 3.90% or 0.18 points to end at 4.49 and Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT) was down 3.55% or 0.85 points to 23.08.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 391 to 129 and 38 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.20% or 0.16 to $78.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.13% or 0.11 to hit $82.49 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.76% or 41.50 to trade at $2,313.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 104.74.
