Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.91% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 1.54% or 0.45 points to trade at 29.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER) added 0.94% or 0.18 points to end at 19.39 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) was up 0.91% or 0.041 points to 4.524 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which fell 6.43% or 1.11 points to trade at 16.23 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) declined 5.70% or 0.106 points to end at 1.750 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was down 4.98% or 0.745 points to 14.205.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 254 to 99 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.43% or 1.11 to 16.23. Shares in Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) fell to all time lows; down 5.70% or 0.106 to 1.750.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.54% or 0.38 to $69.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.39% or 0.31 to hit $79.74 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.70 to trade at $1231.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1473, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.56.
