Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.83%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Enel (MI:ENEI), which rose 0.79% or 0.036 points to trade at 4.598 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A (MI:A2) added 0.20% or 0.003 points to end at 1.515 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was down 0.19% or 0.03 points to 16.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which fell 7.23% or 0.2890 points to trade at 3.7110 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) declined 5.42% or 0.098 points to end at 1.705 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) was down 4.47% or 0.225 points to 4.810.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 328 to 49 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.47% or 0.225 to 4.810.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 5.17% or 2.96 to $54.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.21% or 3.48 to hit $63.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1222.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1384, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8885.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 96.55.
