Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.64% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 6.35% or 0.2830 points to trade at 4.7400 at the close. Meanwhile, Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 2.29% or 0.67 points to end at 29.90 and Luxottica Group SpA (MI:LUX) was up 0.80% or 0.44 points to 55.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which fell 10.16% or 1.375 points to trade at 12.155 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) declined 4.76% or 0.078 points to end at 1.560 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) was down 4.14% or 0.1130 points to 2.6170.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 254 to 110 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 10.16% or 1.375 to 12.155. Shares in Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) fell to all time lows; falling 4.76% or 0.078 to 1.560. Shares in Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.14% or 0.1130 to 2.6170.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.66% or 1.10 to $67.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.18% or 0.90 to hit $77.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1231.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8833.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 96.13.
