Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED), which rose 3.50% or 0.215 points to trade at 6.360 at the close. Meanwhile, Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) added 2.00% or 0.205 points to end at 10.455 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 1.89% or 0.19 points to 10.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP), which fell 4.54% or 0.119 points to trade at 2.514 at the close. Enel (MI:ENEI) declined 4.07% or 0.194 points to end at 4.576 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was down 2.48% or 0.068 points to 2.652.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 228 to 126 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enel (MI:ENEI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.07% or 0.194 to 4.576.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.95% or 0.65 to $68.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.70% or 1.26 to hit $72.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.50 to trade at $1216.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1671, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.44.
