Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.20% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 1.83% or 0.26 points to trade at 14.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Italgas SpA (MI:IG) added 1.17% or 0.054 points to end at 4.654 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 0.95% or 0.21 points to 22.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which fell 4.65% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.94 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 3.35% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.5490 and Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) was down 3.11% or 0.062 points to 1.939.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 271 to 88 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.35% or 0.0190 to 0.5490. Shares in Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.11% or 0.062 to 1.939.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.40% or 0.28 to $69.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.22% or 0.17 to hit $77.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1205.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1591, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8948.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 95.12.
