Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which rose 2.25% or 0.26 points to trade at 11.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 0.84% or 0.0380 points to end at 4.5680 and Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) was up 0.36% or 0.03 points to 7.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which fell 5.59% or 0.84 points to trade at 14.19 at the close. Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) declined 3.76% or 0.150 points to end at 3.840 and Banca Generali (MI:BGN) was down 3.34% or 0.74 points to 21.42.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 247 to 99 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.76% or 0.150 to 3.840.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.59% or 0.41 to $69.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.48% or 0.37 to hit $77.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.58% or 7.00 to trade at $1204.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.73.
