Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Hera (BIT:HRA), which rose 1.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.56 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A SpA (BIT:A2) added 1.07% or 0.02 points to end at 2.08 and Enel (BIT:ENEI) was up 0.80% or 0.06 points to 7.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which fell 3.90% or 2.40 points to trade at 59.20 at the close. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 3.08% or 0.82 points to end at 25.83 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) was down 2.73% or 0.14 points to 4.91.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 363 to 125 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in A2A SpA (BIT:A2) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.07% or 0.02 to 2.08. Shares in STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.08% or 0.82 to 25.83. Shares in Enel (BIT:ENEI) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.80% or 0.06 to 7.05.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.18% or 1.51 to $67.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.17% or 1.58 to hit $71.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 13.10 to trade at $2,530.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.18.
