Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 2.74% or 0.45 points to trade at 16.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) added 2.27% or 0.14 points to end at 6.12 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 2.05% or 0.64 points to 31.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset SpA (MI:MS), which fell 6.88% or 0.183 points to trade at 2.478 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 3.21% or 0.61 points to end at 18.40 and Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) was down 3.19% or 0.220 points to 6.668.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 239 to 124 and 22 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.49% or 0.83 to $56.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.66% or 1.09 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 4.30 to trade at $1203.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1304, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.96.
