Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII), which rose 2.45% or 0.15 points to trade at 6.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) added 2.33% or 0.05 points to end at 2.07 and STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) was up 1.79% or 0.45 points to 25.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ERG (BIT:ERG), which fell 3.74% or 0.84 points to trade at 21.64 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) declined 3.55% or 0.43 points to end at 11.67 and Inwit (BIT:INWT) was down 2.97% or 0.32 points to 10.46.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 293 to 203 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in ERG (BIT:ERG) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.74% or 0.84 to 21.64.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.80% or 1.96 to $72.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.60% or 1.93 to hit $76.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 14.05 to trade at $2,752.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.90.
