Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset SpA (MI:MS), which rose 1.94% or 0.053 points to trade at 2.782 at the close. Meanwhile, Luxottica Group SpA (MI:LUX) added 1.58% or 0.92 points to end at 59.14 and Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) was up 0.97% or 0.07 points to 7.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atlantia (MI:ATL), which fell 2.34% or 0.43 points to trade at 17.95 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) declined 2.09% or 0.0800 points to end at 3.7500 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) was down 1.95% or 0.125 points to 6.270.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 224 to 141 and 36 ended unchanged.
Shares in Luxottica Group SpA (MI:LUX) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.58% or 0.92 to 59.14.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.64% or 0.46 to $72.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.51% or 0.41 to hit $81.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.95% or 11.40 to trade at $1187.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1678, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 94.39.
