Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which rose 3.00% or 0.46 points to trade at 15.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 2.47% or 0.38 points to end at 15.78 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was up 1.72% or 0.15 points to 9.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 8.43% or 0.0263 points to trade at 0.2857 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 5.19% or 0.0226 points to end at 0.4127 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was down 3.10% or 0.190 points to 5.940.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 212 to 175 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Campari (MI:CPRI) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.72% or 0.15 to 9.15.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.65% or 1.17 to $43.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.30% or 1.06 to hit $45.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1328.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0983, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8362.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.37.
