Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Chemicals and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which rose 2.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) added 1.12% or 0.05 points to end at 4.86 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) was up 0.45% or 0.22 points to 49.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR), which fell 2.22% or 0.32 points to trade at 14.09 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) declined 2.18% or 0.10 points to end at 4.44 and Ferrari NV (BIT:RACE) was down 1.79% or 7.10 points to 389.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 304 to 187 and 40 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.27% or 0.22 to $80.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $84.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 18.00 to trade at $2,312.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 105.68.
