Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which rose 2.63% or 0.60 points to trade at 23.44 at the close. Meanwhile, UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) added 2.39% or 0.046 points to end at 1.972 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was up 1.33% or 0.0610 points to 4.6470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which fell 4.58% or 0.35 points to trade at 7.25 at the close. Atlantia (MI:ATL) declined 3.81% or 0.72 points to end at 18.18 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) was down 2.82% or 0.137 points to 4.719.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 184 to 159 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atlantia (MI:ATL) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.81% or 0.72 to 18.18. Shares in Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.33% or 0.0610 to 4.6470.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.19% or 2.10 to $67.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.78% or 2.02 to hit $74.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.30 to trade at $1202.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8976.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 95.03.
