Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which rose 1.76% or 0.19 points to trade at 10.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (BIT:ISP) added 1.20% or 0.04 points to end at 3.46 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was up 1.03% or 0.23 points to 22.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which fell 4.67% or 1.87 points to trade at 38.19 at the close. Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT) declined 2.22% or 0.01 points to end at 0.22 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was down 1.86% or 0.09 points to 4.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 268 to 208 and 45 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.10% or 0.08 to $80.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $85.25 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 1.75 to trade at $2,345.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.82.
