Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Travel & Leisure and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 2.21% or 0.50 points to trade at 23.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset (MI:MS) added 1.42% or 0.045 points to end at 3.216 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 1.09% or 0.0080 points to 0.7400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which fell 3.28% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.90 at the close. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) declined 2.70% or 0.20 points to end at 7.29 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was down 2.21% or 0.0760 points to 3.3700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 190 to 146 and 30 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.79% or 1.13 to $61.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.83% or 1.22 to hit $65.30 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 2.00 to trade at $1320.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.2210, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8856.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 90.48.
