Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 6.09% or 1.30 points to trade at 22.65 at the close. Meanwhile, FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) added 1.08% or 0.08 points to end at 7.47 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) was up 1.02% or 0.55 points to 54.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI), which fell 2.24% or 0.4000 points to trade at 17.4700 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) declined 1.75% or 0.290 points to end at 16.280 and Atlantia (MI:ATL) was down 1.67% or 0.46 points to 27.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 177 to 171 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atlantia (MI:ATL) fell to all time highs; losing 1.67% or 0.46 to 27.07.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.14% or 1.07 to $50.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.19% or 1.21 to hit $56.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.74 to trade at $1316.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2002, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 91.50.
