Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Amplifon (BIT:AMPF), which rose 1.64% or 0.40 points to trade at 24.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU) added 1.45% or 1.50 points to end at 105.00 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was up 1.32% or 0.07 points to 5.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which fell 6.09% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.48 at the close. Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT) declined 3.67% or 0.01 points to end at 0.24 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) was down 2.16% or 0.12 points to 5.26.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 294 to 228 and 40 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.76% or 1.24 to $69.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $72.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.40% or 36.39 to trade at $2,644.49 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 107.44.
