Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Juventus Football Club (MI:JUVE), which rose 7.19% or 0.0930 points to trade at 1.3870 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 2.12% or 0.300 points to end at 14.438 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was up 1.99% or 1.92 points to 98.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which fell 4.97% or 0.1220 points to trade at 2.3350 at the close. Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) declined 4.74% or 0.149 points to end at 2.995 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) was down 4.45% or 0.175 points to 3.754.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 195 to 161 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.97% or 0.1220 to 2.3350. Shares in Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.74% or 0.149 to 2.995.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.67% or 1.35 to $51.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.10% or 1.24 to hit $60.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.55 to trade at $1287.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1390, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 95.833.
