Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 2.36% or 0.450 points to trade at 19.520 at the close. Meanwhile, Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) added 1.58% or 0.175 points to end at 11.275 and Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) was up 1.13% or 0.15 points to 13.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which fell 2.24% or 0.0910 points to trade at 3.9710 at the close. A2A (MI:A2) declined 1.40% or 0.022 points to end at 1.550 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 1.38% or 0.20 points to 14.34.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 219 to 131 and 35 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.39% or 0.92 to $65.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.68% or 1.18 to hit $68.97 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 13.70 to trade at $1338.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.2353, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 89.37.
