Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 3.95% or 0.0208 points to trade at 0.5470 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) added 3.28% or 0.057 points to end at 1.803 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) was up 1.88% or 0.0480 points to 2.6080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which fell 4.88% or 0.380 points to trade at 7.400 at the close. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 3.61% or 0.1500 points to end at 4.0000 and Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER) was down 3.33% or 0.69 points to 20.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 204 to 144 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.88% or 0.380 to 7.400.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.28% or 0.16 to $56.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.72% or 0.48 to hit $66.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1222.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1446, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 96.10.
