Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 3.65% or 0.1360 points to trade at 3.8600 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 2.44% or 0.062 points to end at 2.608 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 1.71% or 0.44 points to 26.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MI:MS), which fell 1.03% or 0.034 points to trade at 3.252 at the close. Enel (MI:ENEI) declined 0.85% or 0.045 points to end at 5.240 and Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) was down 0.77% or 0.022 points to 2.818.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 200 to 165 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) rose to all time highs; up 1.71% or 0.44 to 26.12.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.70% or 0.42 to $59.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.83% or 0.55 to hit $65.91 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.20 to trade at $1290.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1900, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.59.
