Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (BIT:FBK), which rose 3.28% or 0.50 points to trade at 15.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) added 2.36% or 0.17 points to end at 7.14 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 2.26% or 2.24 points to 101.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eni SpA (BIT:ENI), which fell 1.59% or 0.23 points to trade at 14.01 at the close. Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) declined 1.46% or 0.04 points to end at 2.37 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) was down 1.20% or 0.37 points to 30.42.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 253 to 228 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (BIT:FBK) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.28% or 0.50 to 15.75.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.14% or 0.92 to $79.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.05% or 0.89 to hit $83.96 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.49% or 36.20 to trade at $2,465.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 104.07.
