Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.05% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which rose 3.06% or 0.234 points to trade at 7.878 at the close. Meanwhile, Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) added 2.45% or 0.150 points to end at 6.270 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was up 1.98% or 0.0930 points to 4.7940 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which fell 5.05% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.87 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 3.70% or 0.73 points to end at 19.00 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was down 3.51% or 0.62 points to 17.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 257 to 126 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.05% or 0.31 to 5.87. Shares in Banca Generali (MI:BGN) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.70% or 0.73 to 19.00. Shares in Prysmian (MI:PRY) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.51% or 0.62 to 17.18.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.79% or 0.54 to $69.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.93% or 0.74 to hit $80.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1230.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1513, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 95.44.
