Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.99% or 0.1250 points to trade at 4.3110 at the close. Meanwhile, Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 1.73% or 0.0610 points to end at 3.5890 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) was up 1.80% or 0.25 points to 14.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which fell 5.95% or 0.149 points to trade at 2.354 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 1.65% or 0.146 points to end at 8.680 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was down 0.46% or 0.50 points to 107.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 184 to 153 and 36 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.87% or 1.28 to $69.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.31% or 0.96 to hit $74.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.70 to trade at $1218.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1560, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8934.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 95.17.
