Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII), which rose 1.55% or 0.120 points to trade at 7.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW) added 0.94% or 0.016 points to end at 1.723 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) was up 0.93% or 0.0170 points to 1.8450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 3.98% or 0.182 points to trade at 4.386 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 3.44% or 0.92 points to end at 25.84 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was down 2.25% or 0.32 points to 13.93.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 318 to 147 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 3.59% or 2.07 to $59.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.65% or 2.29 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1189.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.0979, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.04.
