Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were A2A (MILAN:A2), which rose 2.29% or 0.026 points to trade at 1.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Campari (MILAN:CPRI) added 1.51% or 0.10 points to end at 7.05 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was up 1.25% or 1.05 points to 85.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII), which fell 1.78% or 0.140 points to trade at 7.740 at the close. Prysmian (MILAN:PRY) declined 1.27% or 0.26 points to end at 20.29 and Snam (MILAN:SRG) was down 1.24% or 0.056 points to 4.448.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 255 to 211 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in A2A (MILAN:A2) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.29% or 0.026 to 1.160.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.23% or 0.74 to $59.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.58% or 1.03 to hit $64.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.50 to trade at $1191.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.0912, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7185.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 97.62.
