Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT), which rose 3.01% or 0.034 points to trade at 1.163 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) added 2.75% or 0.32 points to end at 11.96 and Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW) was up 2.62% or 0.045 points to 1.764 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 1.90% or 0.0350 points to trade at 1.8050 at the close. Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) declined 1.89% or 0.16 points to end at 8.29 and Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX) was down 1.70% or 1.05 points to 60.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 248 to 195 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.01% or 0.034 to 1.163.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.83% or 1.10 to $61.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.39% or 0.91 to hit $65.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.80 to trade at $1193.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 2.22% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP rose 1.14% to 0.7272.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.75% at 95.81.
