Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which rose 7.06% or 0.542 points to trade at 8.224 at the close. Meanwhile, FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) added 6.44% or 0.51 points to end at 8.47 and Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) was up 4.19% or 0.294 points to 7.308 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which fell 1.37% or 0.140 points to trade at 10.105 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 0.11% or 0.04 points to end at 37.95 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was down 0.04% or 0.01 points to 23.51.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 266 to 110 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Prysmian (MI:PRY) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.04% or 0.01 to 23.51.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.32% or 1.55 to $68.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.66% or 2.01 to hit $77.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1300.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.04% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 94.08.
