Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Chemicals and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.75%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which rose 6.70% or 0.29 points to trade at 4.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) added 5.83% or 0.28 points to end at 5.00 and UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI) was up 4.62% or 1.60 points to 36.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which fell 1.94% or 1.12 points to trade at 56.70 at the close. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 1.76% or 0.65 points to end at 36.22 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) was down 1.59% or 0.14 points to 8.68.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 278 to 231 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.59% or 0.14 to 8.68.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.74% or 1.42 to $82.96 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.62% or 1.38 to hit $86.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 1.05 to trade at $2,338.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 105.60.
