Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which rose 3.90% or 0.35 points to trade at 9.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 3.74% or 0.1230 points to end at 3.4120 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was up 3.31% or 2.96 points to 92.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED), which fell 1.36% or 0.070 points to trade at 5.080 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) declined 0.94% or 0.10 points to end at 9.99 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was down 0.74% or 0.090 points to 12.025.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 218 to 137 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 0.94% or 0.10 to 9.99.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 3.15% or 1.47 to $48.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.24% or 1.26 to hit $57.52 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1256.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1425, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.9027.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 96.107.
