Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.48%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 4.31% or 0.3300 points to trade at 7.9800 at the close. Meanwhile, Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) added 3.10% or 0.62 points to end at 20.59 and Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) was up 3.04% or 0.0320 points to 1.0840 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Autogrill (MILAN:AGL), which fell 0.92% or 0.07 points to trade at 8.04 at the close. A2A (MILAN:A2) declined 0.35% or 0.004 points to end at 1.130 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was down 0.19% or 0.03 points to 15.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 248 to 190 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.02% or 0.89 to $44.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $47.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.44% or 4.90 to trade at $1102.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1271, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7344.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 95.78.
